Editor Needed: Asian Music (Journal of the Society for Asian Music)

EDITOR NEEDED: ASIAN MUSIC
SOCIETY FOR ASIAN MUSIC
DEADLINE: 25 MAY 2009


The Society for Asian Music seeks to appoint a new editor for its journal, Asian Music. The incoming editor will work with our current editor, Stephen Slawek (University of Texas, Austin) starting Fall 2009 to facilitate the transition. Duties of the editor include accepting submissions, liaising with reviewers, and working with the University of Texas Press at all stages of the journal production. The journal editor is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Asian Music, and the society provides up to $2500 a year of editorial support.

Interested applicants are requested to submit a 2-page curriculum vitae and a cover letter to Tong Soon Lee (tslee@emory.edu). Applicants should also note the kinds of support that may be available from their institutions (funds, research assistants, space, equipment, etc.). References may be requested by the Society's Board of Directors. For more specifics on journal editorship, please contact Stephen Slawek (slawek@mail.utexas.edu). Review of applications begins on May 25, 2009--we will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
