CFP: Stanford Forum on Opera (Stanford University)

STANFORD FORUM ON OPERA - GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE
STANFORD UNIVERSITY
27 - 28 FEBRUARY 2010
CALL FOR PAPERS

Graduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to propose a paper on a topic related to opera from 1600 to the present. Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words outlining the project by January 3, 2010. Applicants will be notified of the conference program by January 11. Papers will be allotted 30 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for discussion.

Keynote address to be given by Karol Berger on the works of Richard Wagner.

CASBS Fellowships (Stanford University)

CENTER FOR ADVANCED STUDY IN THE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES FELLOWSHIPS
STANFORD UNIVERSITY

The Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University (CASBS) is pleased to encourage applications for residential fellowships during the 2010-2011 academic year.

The Center considers applications from scholars in a wide range of disciplines and interdisciplinary areas in the social and behavioral sciences, and humanities. Applicants with a Ph.D. professional degree (e.g., J.D., M.D.) or equivalent foreign degree are eligible to apply. Faculty at all academic levels or independent scholars may apply, provided they exhibit a high level of achievement (adjusted for rank) including a strong record of research publications.

A CASBS Fellowship award is considered a career milestone for any scholar. As you are considering who to recommend for a Fellowship, please keep in mind that we welcome applications from scholars in a wide range of disciplines and interdisciplinary areas in the social and behavioral sciences, and humanities.
